Axis Student Ministries exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ who love God and love people.
The vision we have to achieve this purpose statement is by:
- Reaching Out to lost teenagers in Jesus’ name;
- Worshipping God through times of authentic praise;
- Studying God's Word to expose the relevance of Scripture;
- Serving People to share the love of God;
- Partnering with Parents in the disciple-making process.
The following programs and activities are some of the ways that we attempt to live out and accomplish the elements in this vision:
AXIS (Wednesday Nights 6:30-8:15 pm)
Axis is designed for students to experience God through creative teaching on relevant topics and authentic worship. It is a great, safe place for students to serve, to grow, and to be connected to a community of believers their age for encouragement, support, and accountability as they are lead by adult mentors.
Small Groups (Weekly)
Age and gender appropriate groups of students that meet weekly with a couple of youth coaches for the purpose of building relationships, praying, encouraging, and holding each other accountable to living the way God asks us to live. The times and places they meet vary depending on the dynamic of the group.
Sunday School (9:15-10:15 am)
Two classes (Junior High and High School) that meet for fellowship and a deeper study of God’s Word. The aim is not only to teach the Word, but also to teach the students how to study, understand, and interpret for themselves in order to encourage and enhance their own devotional time with God.
Events, Trips, and Projects
We plan an array of events that range from local service projects to week-long summer conferences and winter ski-trips. Each event has a particular purpose and focus, but embedded in them all are these core values: to build healthy relationships with teenagers, to break out of the day-to-day routines in order to reevaluate and focus on God, to serve people and practice spiritual disciplines, and to create experiences and memories that serve as building blocks for a life-long commitment and relationship with Jesus Christ.
