Audition Process

The audition process at C3 involves two elements. The first (and most important) is a conversation with one of our Worship and Creative Arts staff members. This will be very conversational, asking questions about your heart, experience, and desire for serving on the team. To do this, reach out to one of our staff members to schedule a time to come and talk with them.

The second is the musical portion. We want to respect your time and make what can be daunting, as comfortable as possible. To best accomplish both of these elements, we take your musical audition digitally. This does not have to be professional, a video from your phone is perfectly fine. What we do ask is that whatever you are auditioning for can be heard loud and clear over the song you are playing with. Once you have recorded it, please send it to c3music@cartervillechristianchurch.

We have two important suggestions for how to submit this (choose one):

  1. The most seamless way we have found to do this is for you to upload your video to Google Drive and then share that link with us. Make sure when you share it that you give us access to watch it! For this option, choose from one of the songs and tracks below.

  2. In some cases, you may be able to share a link of you playing/singing in a service for another church. This video can work as a substitute, but will depend on how well we can make out the part of what you were doing. Let us know if this is something that you have available from a previous service!

*If there is no way for you to do a video audition, reach out and we can see if we can make an alternative solution work.

Vocal Audition:

As we said before, please make sure we can hear your vocals over the tracks. We still need to hear the tracks clearly, but we need your part as well.

Things we are looking for:

  • Clarity

  • Accuracy of parts

  • Staying on time

  • Overall tone

For whatever song you choose, we ask that you submit a video of you leading and then one of you singing harmony. You can choose from one of these songs:

Female:

Male:

Instrumentalist Audition:

As we said before, please make sure we can hear your parts over the tracks. We still need to hear the tracks clearly, but we need your part as well. If you are auditioning for multiple instruments, we would love to have videos of you playing each one.

Things we are looking for:

  • Accuracy of written parts

  • Tone

  • Staying on time

  • When applicable, simplicity

You can choose one of these songs to record:
