Elder

David is an elder at C3, a role he stepped into in August 2025. He has called C3 home since 2010, when he moved from Topeka, Kansas, to Joplin for college. He works in land development, primarily building neighborhoods. David is married to Amy, whom he calls “the most amazing person ever,” and together they have four awesome kids and “a few too many” farm animals.

At C3, David has served in the youth ministry since he and Amy started attending, volunteers at C3Kids check-in, and also serves in classes for adults. As an elder, he’s passionate about creating a shared vision for how our church can grow in love for God and for the people around us. He gets excited about fostering spiritual depth and an everyday missional mindset, and he hopes to see C3 become the church outside the walls of our building. David has always loved the passion of Acts 20:24: “My only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”

Outside of ministry, David enjoys anything outdoors, including sports, camping, kayaking, and walking. He also likes carpentry, though he admits he’s a little too lazy with it. He loves reading books to his kids in funny accents and different voices, and they love it too. On Sunday mornings, you’ll probably find David in the atrium, talking a little too much.
